You do your best thinking at NIGHT
Yes, I know I'm weird, managing to think even when I'm sleeping...I woke up halfway last night with the crazy urge to retake my Chinese. (Don't even try to ask me why. I abhor studying the subject.) Mind, it doesn't mean that I hate Chinese. I like the language. Quite. I just hate studying and sitting for exams...especially when I keep getting the minimum pass grade for the Oral component. *strangles air* My spoken Chinese very bad meh!!! :s
"If you know you are going to fail, then fail gloriously." - Cate BlanchettAnyway...this year's batch of J3s did fantastically well. Congratulations to all! Of course, there're those who got less than expected, but that's okay. Life goes on people. It's not the end of the world. The whole point of our parents bringing us into this world is not to pass the A levels with flying colours. I'm damn sure there's more to life than that.
"The finish line is just the beginning of a whole new race." - Susan Saint JamesI realise that blogging in Singlish makes your post end up sounding quite...juvenile. To a certain extent. I think it's got something to do with the fact that excessive exclamation marks have to be put in after every 'la' or 'meh' you insert in your post. (Refer to the last sentence of paragraph 1 for a good example.)
The world is really screwed. The environment is running amok. Global warming?? El Nino effect?? La Nina effect?? (Yes. There really IS La Nina. El Nino's for hot, La Nina for cold. I think.) I attended the NUS workshop the other day...although it made my ass hurt like a stuck pig, it was really informative. About environmental stuff...plus, the food was scrumptious.
"We are part of the Earth, and the Earth is part of us. What we do to Mother Earth, she will do unto us." - Chief SeattleI can't remember the exact quote, but if memory serves, that should be about it.
Anyhow. We're destroying the Earth, and nobody really cares (except for those environmentalists of course.) The news that matters today is why the hell Britney Spears went to shave her head, who's with who in school, or some fickle and irrelevant stuff and nonsense. Sure, it's entertaining, but these are not things that I want to remember when I lie on my deathbed. The world is becoming more and more perverse...every corner you turn,
SEX screams into your face. I did more of my night thinking...and was wondering if a scenario like in the movie "The Day After Tomorrow" would happen in my lifetime, and imagine how scary
that would be.
"The Earth was not given to us by our parents. It is loaned to us by our children."I don't know who this quote is by, but yea. It made sense after Mr Tong explained it to us. We have no right to destroy something that doesn't belong to us, and let the repercussions fall on the shoulders of future generations. Oh well. Such is the world in the 21st century.
I know I sound so...pious and all. But whatever la. Issues of the 21st century and all. We should be considering this instead of focusing on Britney.
I've forgotten what I wanted to say. Shucks.
Oh yea. Eh people. Stop laughing at my hair already. I know it's damn short - it wasn't intentional. :'(
