gone with the wind....

First it was the rain. And now it's the wind. What next?? I swear, ever since I got short hair, I spent like twice as much time arranging every strand in it's proper place. I step out of the house, and BLAM!!! The wind promptly puts all my efforts 10 000 km away. (I stay on the 16th if any of you don't know. The wind is horrific at that height.) *sighs and grumbles* hahahahha...then I'll reach school trying to put everything back to normal...and just when I'm satisfied, Clovis comes along trumpeting "FLORENCE!!! YOUR HAIR IS SO UNGLAM!!!!" *sobs* I am beginning to think that he's highly exaggerating. My hair can't be that bad right. RIGHT?? Bleagh.

ANYWAY. I made this stoopid mistake for DE test today. SIAN JI PUA Forgot to sub in the values to get the stoopid graph...but let us forget this tragic business. Tomorrow is BIO test!!!! Drat drat drat. So many things to study la please. H2 Bio so humungously full of words. How how how?? I haven't even started studying lor...I sound so mugger. Like corne says, "you study 24/7 one right??" Ya la ya la...I study so hard, still got time to waste by blogging when I should have been stuyding right. LOL.

and so life goes on...even for the unfortunate

Went to give out bags of rice today!! With the Leo club la, duh. Hahahahaha...we handed them out at Block 12, which is just opposite my block. And for the first time in my entire life, I experienced the wide income gap between the rich and the poor of Singapore...Block 12 is a one-room flat. And just beside it, is my housing estate. Which are executive blocks...translating to about six rooms per unit. Plus, on the other side of Block 12, and over the hill, are all the terraces...private estates la. It's amazing man!!! This small plot of poverty in the middle of luxury. So saddening.

Anyway. The lifts were upgraded and all...we all had to carry bags of rice, weighing 10 kg each, to give to each household. It's like all the residents were so happy and excited to receive the rice la...standing at the door peering out and smiling and chatting...I've never seen such comaradrie amongst nighbours before la. Brings back naunces of the kampong spirit of old. Some of them even stay with their neighbours...then the extra house can use for storing stuff??

They all thanked us profusely for the rice...like it's a godsend. In a sense, it is, (it's sponsored by Song He) but just across a field in the neighbouring block, people take rice for granted. Girls abstain from eating rice "cos carbs make me fat", maids cook too much of it and have to throw some away EVERY SINGLE DAY. And for these people I helped, rice is worth it's weight in gold. WOW. It sure made me feel like a damn selfish person. Thank goodness I never waste rice. I love rice. (:

The coridors were dark and gloomy, stank of urine?? Sweat?? And you could see whole families sleeping in the living room on the sofa and on the floor. I think they only have a toilet, a kitchen and the living room or something...It's really sad la...and yet the residents were all still so cheerful, calling out to each other along the corridor, and the children opening the door so trustingly to me. I really must start appreciating my very own room, my spacious bed, and abundance of food man...

and I'm also full of secrets...

Okay people. Redemption time!!! Hahahahahah...I'm back to being calm and steady, in which case you can gaze at the picture up there a 'lil while longer. (:

Anyway. 32/06 is playing Angel and Mortal!! I still think that game is quite waste money...:'( and I never really got the point of playing it, but it's quite fun nonetheless! Hahahahahah...and my mortal is....(do you really think I'd tell?? Heh heh.) All I can say is that whoever it is, she's one darned lucky fellow cos I'm just such a nice person. Hahahahah...

In addition to that, our class is also playing Angels and Mortal throughout the school. Sian man!! Hahahha...the last time I played that, my mortal didn't even respond to the messages I gave her. My Angel was great though. Hahahaha.

Oh ya. And toady Desmond, Daniel and Wen Yang were soooo uber fascinated with the golf game on my phone. Didn't even want to let go even though it was time for class. (: Siao one la they all. haha.

chilled man...

Hey people!! I'm chilled out from yesterday's vehement and strong worded incident kk!! Hahahahahha...cos like besides Shalynn, alot of other people are quite shocked that I can actually get angry. Hahahahahha...don't worry k! When I get angry, I cool down quite fast. (:

*sigh* But that doesn't change the fact that I was rather um, grouchy. Hahahahah...sorry la people. I'll try not to shock you all anymore. I'm a generally happy person.

it's a fucked up day.

I'm so damn FRICKIN'pissed. I waited for 2 bliddy hours, to take this Math test conducted by NTU (or NUS??) purely in the name of research. Number 1, I didn't even want to take it. Number 2, it clashed with my math tuition.

Now, I haven't had tuition for months, and I've just been suffering terribly under vectors. I don't understand my math teacher (who's my CT), AT BLOODY ALL. And, if you have enough misfortune to be plonked into JC, you'll know that Vectors is one topic that some smarty pants from the MOE sadistically decided to impose upon our overtaxed brains. Add an incoherent teacher to the mix, and you get grumpy faces all around.

So. I decided to pon the test, but since I'm such a model student, I decided to just tell her that I couldn't make it. I mean, the test isn't such a big deal. All of us didn't study for it, certainly not planning to break any records for the high score. It isn't even counted in our reports, and we're not going to be recognised for our slavery. Some people who had other classes were also excused from it. I approached her and pleasantly told her that I couldn't go for the test because of tuition. Guess what she told me.

"That's not a valid reason."

WTF.

Vectors and the A levels is certainly a more valid reason than wasting my bloody time going for a useless test. This is the first time I've heard that tuition is not a valid reason. Plus, I had 2 hours break before that, so who the hell is going to be understanding to such a blunt statement?! I was FRICKIN' pissed, and made up my mind on the spot not to go for the damn test.

Well. Damn it all, but I cooled down considerably after that and decided to go after all. No blemishes on my records and all that. I pushed back tuition, (after postponing it several times already) and went for the bloody test. The papers were handed out, and the representatives from the university said,

"You mean you are not Year 1s ah??"

WTF AGAIN.

We were released after that...wasting 2 hours of my bliddy time. I could have been spending some real productive time with my tuition teacher, unravelling the truth about the mystery that vectors is. I'm so FRICKIN' pissed.

ah bengs of Singapore unite!!

Never in my life have I noticed that the elderly staying in my area are so fascinating. Especially the ones at the market opposite TJ. Heh. My observation skills for old ladies have heightened considerably over the pass few days...(call it being a busybody if you like. But Whatever.)

Anyway. I seem to recall reading some highly disconcerting news articles on the discourtesy of people nowadays. Singapore is even ranked somewhere near the bottom on the courtesy list published in the Readers' Digest. Imagine!!

I was having dinner with my family at the above-mentioned market...when this old lady at the next table caught my attention. Number 1, the poor dear was wrinkled like a prune (meaning that she qualifies to be put under the category of 'ancient') =/ Number 2, she was struggling valiantly to pick out all the vegetables in her bowl of fishball noodles. (Heh. Who says only kids hate their greens?? Adults won't have this excuse for ammunition any more!! Hooray!) Number 3, she'd dropped her handbag onto the floor and was trying to bend down to pick it up.

Now. Look at reason number one, and you'll have cause to assume that she's not gonna be able to pick up that handbag. And you'd be right. She was having quite abit of trouble. I was about to get up to help her, when this ah beng walked over, bent down and reached for her bag. His sleeve rode up his biceps, and revealed a slew of tattoos that we can only imagine on a gangster. This ah beng, is complete with gold chain, cigarette in mouth, as well as the whatcha-looking-at?! glare and the devil-may-care slink. He was clad in a tight tshirt, and trademark long pants. In other words, this ah beng is the one that many parents whisper frightenedly about, albeit just a tad scrawny.

If my mother had seen what I'd been looking at, she would have thrown down her utensils and rush to the aid of the poor dear who's about to be robbed. But my mother didn't see, and that's just the point isn't it?? Well. The ah beng, picked up the handbag in question, and handed it back to the old dear.

Bloody MARVELLOUS I say. Where are all the tourists?? Come away from the snob-ridden CBD and discover the kind heartedness of the heartland ah bengs!! If only Reader's Digest had taken the survey in the hawker centres of Singapore. The CBD working executive is precisely the one who'd sit on the outside seat of the bus, thus effectively preventing other more needy people from having a seat. And the gangster is the one who'll help you as he sees fit. And yet some people claim that it is the lack of education that's eroding our manners. -.-"

Talk about IRONY.

traumatising old woman

*shudders* Cornelius, Ren Liang and I were severely traumatised by this tiny old lady today. *shudders again* =/ We were having lunch at the market opposite TJ...okay. To be absolutely accurate, we had already finished lunch, but being typical TMS people, we were bitching around about stuff (highly enthusiastically on Corne's part. Haha. Gestulating and all...) in general. This old lady la. She's quite stooped, with 2 packets of food in one hand, and her walking stick in the other...interrupted Corne in the middle of his animated story, complete with big hand gestures. He actually had his hands up in midair la, then the old lady stopped behind him. Heh.

old lady (OL for short): *mumble mumble* (raises hand up to teeth and makes a scraping motion)
Corne: (blank look) HUH?????? (looks at me and Ren Liang)
Ren Liang: Huh??!?!?! What's she talking about?? (both of them looks at me)
Me: I dunno!!!!!!!!!! (all of us gives her the huh look.

She's like super obliging la. Unfortunately, she repeated whatever she said at the same mumbly volume. Basically...just repeat that conversation another time...then Ren Liang came to the conclusion that "Is she CURSING ME?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?" Hahahahaha...we were all highly traumatised by then la. Imagine. The old lady. Repeat and repeat and repeat, and none of us were any closer to deciphering her hieroglyphic language. She didn't help us considering the fact that she was using one of the dialects. Ren Liang got more and more hysterical, and Corne and I weren't much better, huh-ing here and there. She finally shuffled off...and we all heaved this huge sigh of relief (with Ren Liang still muttering about being cursed).

And guess what. We finally came to the conclusion that she was asking us for a toothpick Bleagh.

oh, what the heck.

Oh, what the heck. Hahaha...I've changed to a new blogskin. OBVIOUSLY. I realise that goong is so um, one year ago, but I like that picture!!! As in the scenery. Lee Shin is not the point. Although he is quite handsome la. Hahaha. I like the way the sunlight floods in in wisps...like so fresh and tranquil. (: If only my house was like that. (As I'm typing this, the sun is flooding in. All I get is the shadow of the window on my wall. A highly overexposed-to-sunlight wall. So unglam can. Tranquil my foot.) At the very least, my sister will be a little happier about the fact that I'm not using the same blogskin as her anymore. Bleagh.

and yet another day goes by...

Monday blues. I used to like mondays. But ever since my timetable came knocking, telling me that I have every single subject, and have to go home at 1640, my opinion changed. For the worse. Math, Chem, Bio, Econs, GP, Chinese (oh, the horror!!!) and PE. Yep. Every single subject I unwittingly signed up for at the end of 2005. *grumbles*

Otherwise, my day went rather fine. More than fine really. I went crazy today, in spite of my resolution (made the day before) to stay relatively quiet for today. =/ Hahahaha...ah well. Resolutions are there for breaking. I was chirpily spouting crap and nonsense right left and centre...it's a miracle how my classmates managed to stand me for one whole year. *applauds* Wait. Make that a standing ovation. :p (see what I mean?? Totally high on life.)

Mondays drive me mad, I tell you. Math so far this year has never failed yet to make me grumpy. I know nuts about vectors la. When I actually managed to do most of tutorial 33, I was absolutely ecstatic. Unfortunately, my calculator let me down, and gave me the wrong answer. Drat. Haha. Vectors, vectors...I miss my tuition teacher!!!!! :'(

Oh ya. And the rain's back, on off on off for the past few days. The weather's sunny but cold. I like!! Hahaha..so australia. Unfortunately (or not), we had to have PE in the rain...we ran out of school...with a light drizzle on our backs. And promptly did an aboutturn halfway to our destination because the light drizzle morphed into a myraid of droplets falling on our heads. To put it simply, we were drenched. -.-" But it was rather shiok la...new experience, and I hardly felt tired or strained. Yea man.

tongue in cheek

*smirks* I shall make a confession, in the light of Wen Yang's vehement denial that he wasn't to be blamed for the 11 of us being late for civics yesterday...what I said about him being responsible isn't really true. In fact, the other 10 of us were his partner in arms, but Wen Yang ah...shall we say, ate with the class and speed of a finely groomed gentleman of colonial times. (: Still got time to teach Christianne about fine dining.

Hahahahha...that's not to say I disapprove of his finer characteristics la. Everything he say never fails to make me laugh lor. Then he'll say "SOMETHING WRONG." *sniggers* (Again, I have this sneaking suspicion that only 32/06 people will understand me.) And that's not to say Christianne didn't need the lesson in fine dining. =/ Hahahahhahah...

SO. To make Wen Yang happy, since he put sad sad face on my tagboard. Here's his tribute. (By the way, we were all prepared to just put SOMETHING WRONG on your piece of paper. :p) ER...okay. Hmm...how to say!! Wen YANG!!! Our PW group rocks right! Hahahaha...never meet up also so efficient. Even when I want to meet up also will have SOME people LATE because they SLEEPING. Right or not. (: Aiya...the joker of the class! Refer to paragraph 2 line 2 sentence 2 (such a coincidence); and ya. He always make me laugh lor. Especially when he and Daniel concocts fantastic stories about me and my nieghbour...very interesting person to know although you do make me have violent tendencies sometimes. (ALWAYS feel like slapping him. Haha)

Like that lor.

Joy to the WORLD!!!

Ah...the big hoo hah of back-to-school is settling at last. GP isn't that scary after all. Hahahahaha...and I'm using the exact same blogskin as my sis. Heh. She's soooo going to kill me. Anyway. Back to more important things that are going on. (: School's become very entertaining, what with the 'tribute' thingy we wrote for each and everyone in class, with the exception of WenYang who conveniently made everybody late for civics even though he wasn't even going in the first place. I think only 32/06 people would know what I'd just said. This is one of the many times in my life that I think my English sentence construction really sucks. Everytime I read all those comments (which centered on the fact that I'm always laughing, or am unglam) it invariably puts this cheesy smile on my face. Thanks people!!! (: Coupled with the fact that all the secondary school uniform clad J1s are back in action with us 'lording' it over them, :p 2007 is turning a corner from the gloomy prospect I had about a week ago. Which, of course, is always a good thing.

Guess what??

2007 is turning out to be my worst nightmares come true. Okay. So maybe that's abit of an exaggeration. My nightmares are pretty bad. =/ *shudders*

So...in spite of fervent prayers on my part, I still got Mr Tong for GP. He turned out to be not that bad, except for the fact that I've to lug a dictionary to school every GP lesson (which is 4 times a week) as well as a GP file. Where's my locker when I need one?! *sigh* Lesson with Mr Tong is hmm...how should I put this?? Stressful, humiliating, yada yada. His grasp of English vocabulary is jaw-dropping, and his 4 word spelling test KILLED me. Like, I didn't even know how to spell even one of them. So cheem la!!! My England turns out not to be so good after all. Hahahahhahaha...but at least he made the effort to show that he's not all strict and somber. He actually can JOKE can or not. Like Mr Ng last time...just that he isn't so intimidating.

2007 is flying past like nobody's business. I mean, next week is already week 3!!!! DRAT. Week 3 means tests, tests, and more tests. I had this rude awakening when I came to see the fact that we're not so far away from the dreaded As as I thought. ARGH!!!!!!!!!! So SCARY!!!!!! *hysterics* We'll finish the entire syllabus by the end of May, and then there'll be the JCTs, and then a month after that will be the PRELIMS. WHA LAU. Fast or not. Then 1 month AFTER that is A levels already!!!!!!! @#%^*!#@#$%^&*! Then after that will be play play play until Aug for girls. (: Poor guys have to suffer in NS. Hahaha.

Oh my Sainted Aunts!! Oh my Painted Ants!!

That's a line from Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator by Roald Dahl. Uttered by the famous Willy Wonka, played by the famous Johnny Depp who also played Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Carribean. I'm currently trying to irritate Nikki by displaying my superbly fantastic talent for uttering absolutely random crappings. (: I bet half of you don't really know what I'm talking about these days right. LOL.

Anyway. Back to normalcy we go. The first days of the horrendous A level year has begun with a resounding FLOP! There's only 9 people in class as of now, cos the others are busy being OGLs. Which I should have been doing too. The minute size of the class means the most fantastic sianness able to be experienced by Man. Our CT has changed!! Drat it. She's....*sigh* I shall endeavour to reserve my judgement for when I know her better. She's gonna take over our Math teacher Mr Ang. SO SAD LA!!!! Mr Ang may have been intimidating, but he ultimately was a superb teacher. Sians.

AND. Imagine. My world came crashing around me when I found out that the DM was going to be my GP teacher. *sighs AGAIN* The HOD for GP (I like him better cos he gave special mention to my GP essay for promos. Hahahahahha. :p) told us that we'll be split into 3 freaking groups. My heart was like pounding out a tattoo on my ribcage la. And why I so suay get F.Tong?! (I don't even know how exactly to spell his name. Oops.) But hopefully he's a really nice teacher la. Hopefully. It'll be with great trepidation that I tread into his classroom with all the 33/06 people chattering away. HOW!!!! *hysterics awhile*

It's finally HERE.

And so it begins. The mugging, the constant nagging for work to be done (I haven't even completed the holiday homework they gave), and the constant reminders that we'll be competing with a few thousand other people in Singapore to be the best of the best in Uni. If I didn't know better, I'd say that the education system in Singapore sucks to the core. What's with the stress and great hoohah about highest level of education man!!! (That's just an unreasonable outburst. I know full well why we have to slog like mad.) *sighs dramatically*

Anyway. I had a great first day of 2007. Fullstop.
