Trends of modern pomposity
Man, politics make for critic fodder. I dunno who said that, but it's definitely true. Hahahaha...granted, the PAP does do a great job of caring for citizen's welfare. Compared to other countries, we're definitely trodding along the right track.
Anyway, after that paragraph of um, praise for our government...I will presently launch into the main topic of today. (I DO tend to beat around the damn bouganvillea, no?)
Finally. The HDB housing estates has always sported this phenomenen of love-lorn couples squashed together by the overzealousness of Cupid. Just the other day, I managed to chance upon one such couple as I was on my way to the bus stop. These particular victims of Cupid were engaged in sucking each other's faces with enough force to clear their other half of any facial germs and bacteria, not to mention hair. =/ (oops)
This passionate behaviour brings to mind the phenomenen the papers affectionately name PDA (public displays of affection). If you think about it...there isn't any other place for couples to show affection what...deterrants like hawk-eyed parents at home immediately strike off the most private place for DAs (displays of affection). So of course do in public la!!
Of course, moi the genius will come up with yet another solution!! Okay. Levity over.
What the government should do is to come up with another campaign, since they seem to love doing so. They govern almost every aspect of our lives, from toilet habits to health. So why not our love lives as well?? I feel that they should built private cubicles for these hormone-raging couples to engage in 'not-so-public displays of affection' Ejecting mechanisms can be implemented to ensure that they do not hog the cubicle, resulting in long queues outside. Of course, they must pay la!! To contribute to our steady economic growth.
Oh, one drawback is that Singapore does not have enough land to built so many ACs (affection cubicles) so...why not adopt HDB's idea, and integrate these ACs in all the awkard corners of HDB flats?? After all...the favourite haunts of these couples seem to be of the HDB variety...so just make use of exisiting unused corners to get rid of unsightly behaviour lor! Can put some in MRT, SBS, taxi??
Okay. This is just a joke la. I'm spouting nonsense as usual.
