People, are SUCH money lovers.
Which, sadly, is the case all over the world in this age. Imagine all the trees that have to be killed to print money!!!! MAN, we should start bringing small and big plants around next time, and have gardens so we will
save the environment. HEH. A potted bouganvillea can pay for one meal, a rain tree can pay for your car. So good right?? All you need is green fingers, and a huge patch of soil. No money?? Just steal a seed of a rain tree from your neighbour! Solve all your problems.
Damn. I should stop coming up with ridiculous ideas.
I meant to talk about the revision of civil servants' pay, but somehow digressed to botany. -.-" How related.
Anyway...the bottom line is, civil servants have large bottomless pockets. To put all that money in. Wha lau they get paid so much la!!! I won't even
SMELL the amount of money they receive in an entire lifetime (sad.) let alone in a year. Unless, of course, I become a civil servant la. -.-" But that's not going to happen, cos I, like most other Singaporeans, am politically apathetic. Of course, all these apathetic people occasionally rouse themselves out of their politically untouched caves to watch the polls, or, in this case, to grouch about how high civil servants' pay are going to be. (I've always wondered why they say civil servants?? Cos it's just the ministers what. =/ Say ministers la. Say civil servants so leading!! I was so excited cos I thought my father would get pay rise. Phooey.)
But I understand the whole rationale behind it la...you people realise Singapore's kinda short of good budding young politicians?? (Singapore has 3.4 million politically untouched caves. Heh. Exaggeration!) Ya so...being the money lovers that we are, of course you must pay ministers more to keep those people there. Who would want to work for the government if the private sector pays 2 times more?! Ya. That's the whole catch. Hence the sky high pay. Eh. Ministers don't have a easy job okay!! Tsk tsk. They don't just stand there every night and smile nicely for the 930 news on channel 5 and the 10 'o clock news for channel U! It's a high stress job I suppose.
On a totally unrelated note, March Progress Report is out, and I did better than I expected. I thought I'd fail everything except GP, which turned out not to be the case. I managed to scrape through for everything!!! WHOOOOOO!!! My mother laughed at my report la. Despite the long string of Es. Those thunderclouds gathered on her face...until she came to the last line. Cos when GP turned up to save the day, there was a B. -.-" Plus a 95 percentile beside it. Damn nice I tell you. It should have a separate report card all for itself. All the result so lousy then suddenly one so good. -.-" (I dunno what's wrong with me la. Anyway, for the record, I got lucky with GP. I don't usually do THAT well. Just sufficiently well anyway.) Anyhow, she saw it, her eyed widened, she took a second look. An incredulous expression crossed her face, and she started laughing. LOL. I dunno what's so funny also leh.
But enough about GP.
ALL MY OTHER SUBJECTS ARE SUFFERING!!!!! It's all the SYF's fault I tell you. Band, band, bands and their fascination and obsession with GWH. It's bloody time-consuming, I tell you. All that effort just for what, 10 mins onstage. *sighs in suffering* Ah, well. It'll be over soon. In 2 months time. @#$%^&*! Why JC band SYF so late?! I want to study one okay?!
DAMN. And so SYF and band spoils my day again. I should stop feeling so violently about almost everything. My emotional state of mind is going to go soon. HAHAHAHAHAH...
